The Detroit Pistons take on the Sacramento Kings on Thursday and Pistons power forward Blake Griffin will not play.

The Pistons played the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night, so the team is just giving Griffin the night off for rest. The high-flyer played 37 minutes versus the Lakers and finished with 16 points.

Detroit lost by a final score of 113-100 to fall to 17-22 on the season.

Griffin and the Pistons will head back to Los Angeles after Thursday's game in Sacramento to take on the Clippers on Saturday. It will be the first time Griffin faces his old team since they traded him to Detroit last year.

In 38 games this season for the Pistons, Blake Griffin is averaging 25.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. The five-time All-Star is shooting 47.5 percent from the field, 36.2 percent from beyond the arc and 74.9 percent from the free-throw line.

Detroit started the season off at 4-0. Since then, they are just 13-22. The Pistons are struggling on both ends of the court right now. They are averaging 107.0 points per game, which is 24th in the NBA, and giving up 109.8 points, 14th in the league.

Andre Drummond and Reggie Jackson will have to carry the scoring load on Thursday with Griffin being out.
