Cade Cunningham started off his rookie campaign on the wrong foot… quite literally. The Detroit Pistons' first overall pick was sidelined at the start of the season due to nagging leg injuries. As a result, when he did step on the NBA floor for the first time, Cunningham looked shaky at times.

However, it's safe to say that the Pistons rookie has finally found his groove. Cade Cunningham's torrid March campaign has him matching the greatest player of all-time, Michael Jordan. He's finally living up to the potential that made him a clear number one pick in last year's draft. (via StatMuse)

Cunningham is not your average NBA player. Standing at six-foot-six, the Pistons rookie primarily mans the point guard position, putting him in the same mold as Luka Doncic. His huge frame allows him to abuse mismatches as well as make incredible reads for big plays. He clearly has the potential to be one of the NBA's stars of the future.

On paper, the Pistons as a whole have been rather lackluster this season. They sit at 14th in the Eastern Conference, and they're all but eliminated from play-in contention. However, the signs of a good team are already there: they're able to hang with most good teams, only getting beaten out at the end due to the talent discrepancy.

They've already got a few budding stars like Cunningham, Jerami Grant, and Saddiq Bey on their roster. Give them a few more years, and this Detroit Pistons squad will surely mess some teams up in the postseason.
