Detroit Pistons point guard Derrick Rose is garnering trade interest from a few teams with the trade deadline looming, most notably the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers.

However, it looks like the Pistons are going to keep the former MVP in The Motor City, according to Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report:

Another potential backcourt target for both L.A. teams is Detroit Pistons point guard Derrick Rose, but sources close to both Rose and the Pistons don't see a move as likely. With Rose playing at a near All-Star level and signed through next season on a modest two-year, $15 million deal, it would most likely take a first-round pick and a quality young player to pry him away from the Pistons.

Rose is averaging 18.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 5.9 assists this season for the Pistons in 43 games. He’s shooting 49.9 percent from the field, 31.8 percent from beyond the arc and 87.3 percent from the free-throw line.

The vice chairman of the Pistons is Arn Tellem, who was Rose’s agent before. Odds are the front office will have discussions with Rose and his camp before anything goes down, but it appears Detroit values Rose and his veteran leadership.

Detroit is 17-33 on the season. They are in 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings.
