One of the most beloved Pokemon of all time, Eevee will again be available for players to catch in Legends Arceus. While it will require a bit of luck and patience on your side, you can get the popular Pokemon quite early on in the game. Here's where you can find Eevee in Hisui and the different methods to evolve it into the typing of your choosing in PLA.
Eevee is one of those fan-favorites that has remained popular regardless of generation and region. Even with new evolutionary lines being added like Sylveon, many Pokemon fans have not lost their affection for the Normal-type from Gen I. Now in Legends Arceus, trainers can once again get their hands on this unique Pokemon and transform Eevee (or an army of Eevees, if you so please) into their chosen evolution. To people's relief or dismay, Hisui doesn't have a new regional form for Eevee, but it does allow you to evolve it into any of the eight Eeveelutions from past generations.
Where to catch Eevee in Legends Arceus
To find Eevee in PLA, you'll need a combination of luck and patience. Trainers can only encounter Eevee in one location in Hisui, the Horseshoe Plains within the Obsidian Fieldlands. Fortunately, you can already access this area early on in the game. However, to make things even more challenging, the Pokemon has a relatively low spawn rate. Otherwise, if you can't catch it here, you might hope to find Eevee and its evolved forms in a space-time distortion zone, but again, it is quite the rare ‘mon in Legends Arceus.
Here's how to find Eevee's location in Legends Arceus:
- In the opening stages of the game, you will get free time to explore the Obsidian Fieldlands as much as you please.
- This happens right after the “tutorial” or guide mission where Rei or Akari would give you tips on how to catch Pokemon and complete research tasks.
- Use this time to find Eevee at Horseshoe Plains by heading to the left of the Fieldlands Camp (the tent area where Professor Laventon is).
- Make sure that you do your Eevee hunting before talking to the Professor. Otherwise, you'll submit your survey report and have to head back to Jubilife Village.
- To check whether you are in the right place, you can hit the minus button to check the map or take note of the location cues on screen. Another clue is that you will see a lot of Wurmple in the area. Make sure to stay in this area only to try and find Eevee, as the Pokemon won't spawn in other parts of Obsidian Fieldlands.
- Eevee spawns during daytime only.
- If you are at Horseshoe Plains and you only spot Wurmple without seeing any Eevee, go back to the Fieldlands Camp right away and speak to the Galaxy Member to the left of the campfire.
- Change the time to either morning or midday. Then go back to Horseshoe Plains and check if Eevee has spawned.
- Keep doing the above steps until you find Eevee.
- To catch Eevee, you need to approach it slowly.
- Press B to crouch and hide in the tall grass. Avoid being noticed by the Pokemon at all costs, because once it sees you, Eevee will probably run away and you have to repeat the process again of trying to trigger an encounter.
- Move towards Eevee and try to position yourself behind it to boost your catch rate. Aim your camera carefully, then throw the Pokeball and hope for a successful capture.
How to evolve Eevee in Pokemon Legends Arceus
If you plan to build a team of Eeveelutions or just want to add them all to complete your Pokedex—well, you're in luck, because all eight of Eevee's evolved forms can be unlocked in PLA. The evolution mechanics have also stayed relatively the same as past generations. However, since Umbreon, Espeon, and Sylveon all traditionally evolve when reaching a certain friendship level, and they're all available in this game, Legends Arceus has modified the method slightly to differentiate these three.
For the evolutions that just need an item, all you have to do is to open your Satchel and head over to the stone you need, tap it and click use on the Eevee in your party. For Glaceon and Leafeon, just like in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, you have the choice of using an evolutionary stone or heading to an icy or mossy rock and tapping the “Evolve” button for Eevee.
- Flareon – Use a Fire Stone
- Jolteon – Use a Thunder Stone
- Vaporeon – Use a Water Stone
- Glaceon – Use an Ice Stone or click “Evolve” when next to an icy rock in Alabaster Icelands
- Leafeon – Use a Leaf Stone or click “Evolve” when next to a mossy rock in Obsidian Fieldlands
- Espeon – Evolve in the daytime with high friendship and no Fairy-type move learned
- Umbreon – Evolve at nighttime with high friendship and no Fairy-type move learned
- Sylveon – Evolve in the daytime with high friendship and a Fairy-type move learned
To get Espeon, Umbreon, and/or Sylveon, the key to boosting your friendship level is to keep the Pokemon in your party at all times. Use it in battle or while catching Pokemon but avoid allowing it to faint. You can check the friendship level after you complete Research Request 28 for Belamy, who is in the north area of the Pastures. When you have reached a high enough friendship level, you will see that the Pokeball for your Eevee will start blinking in the Satchel menu.
If you intend to evolve Eevee into Sylveon, train it up until Level 18 so it can learn the move Baby Doll Eyes. Go to the Pokemon's summary page in your party and equip the move before evolving it. On the other hand, if you want either Umbreon or Espeon, double check that Baby Doll Eyes is not equipped. Switch it out for a different move, otherwise the Fairy-type attack will automatically lead to a Sylveon regardless of the time of day that you click Evolve.
To get the daytime or nighttime setting that you need for Espeon and Umbreon respectively, go to any camp in any of the zones or areas around the Hisui map and talk to the Galaxy member stationed there so you can change the time of day.
