Oakland Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper is in danger of missing at least their next game against the New York Giants due to a concussion and an ankle injury. This is according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who also tweeted that both injuries happened on the same play during the Raiders’ 21-14 win over the Denver Broncos Sunday.
On the play he suffered a concussion Sunday, Raiders WR Amari Cooper also sprained his ankle, per source. To play Sunday vs. Giants, Cooper will have to clear concussion protocol and recover from sprained ankle.

This puts the 23-year-old wideout’s availability against the Giants in question, especially because the time it needs to clear the concussion protocol varies from player to player.
Hopefully for the Raiders, Cooper can recover from the concussion sooner than later. But then again, the Alabama product still has to deal with a sprained ankle that could impact his route-running and effectiveness overall.
Article Continues BelowThe team needs all hands on deck considering that they’re still in contention for the AFC West division title. The 5-6 Raiders are tied for second in the division with the Los Angeles Chargers, just one game behind the current AFC West leading Kansas City Chiefs. However, the Chiefs have lost three in a row as well as five of their last six.
In case Cooper misses any time, Cordarelle Patterson will likely see a nice bump in snaps along with Johnny Holton for next Sunday’s game against the visiting Giants.
So far this season, Cooper has 499 receiving yards on 42 receptions to go with five touchdown grabs, which ranks second among all Raiders.
