The Las Vegas Raiders are breaking out the checkbook ahead of the 2022-2023 season. Multiple players were granted huge contract extensions, the latest being Hunter Renfrow. News broke Friday that the wide receiver signed a two-year, $32 million contract.

It's safe to say that Derek Carr is thrilled to have Renfrow on board for at least the next two years. Fox 26 reporter Vanessa Romo tweeted a video of Derek Carr's heartfelt reaction to the wide receiver's extension.

“I'm so proud of him. He earned it. He worked for it,” Carr said of his teammate. Renfrow led the Raiders in receiving yards this past year with 103 receptions for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns. He also had eight receptions for 58 yards in the Raiders' playoff game.

Carr went on boasting about the 26-year-old and explained how the Raiders were able to pay him what he deserved.

“I'm so happy for him and he deserves every penny…That's why Davante, Maxx, myself; that's why we did our contracts in a certain way so that we could get everybody to stay.”

According to Carr, while Davante Adams, Maxx Crosby, and himself all signed huge contracts, they structured them so that their teammates could also stay with the Raiders.

This season is going to be a little different for Renfrow. He'll have to share receptions with Adams, who joined the team through a massive trade earlier in the offseason.
