After spending nine years with the Green Bay Packers, veteran wide receiver Jordy Nelson has a new challenge ahead of him with the Oakland Raiders. Nelson, who spent a good portion of his time with the Packers as Aaron Rodgers’ top target, will now be getting his passes from another excellent quarterback in the Raiders’ Derk Carr.

Carr is still in the process of getting to know his new receiver this offseason. But it hasn’t taken him that much time to see what Rodgers saw in Nelson that made him the Packers’ No. 1 wideout for quite some time:

“Nothing is just being left under the rug,” Carr said recently, via NBC Sports Bay Area's Scott Bair. “Nothing is just being thrown out the window and not thought about. Jordy is very detailed. He wants to do everything exactly how you want it done. I see why Aaron [Rodgers] loved throwing him the ball. He knows if you're comfortable, you'll throw it to them. I think all the guys are taking note of that.”

Carr also praised Nelson’s intelligence, as well as his immediate impact on the Raiders in terms of the veteran mentoring his fellow teammates this offseason.

Nelson is coming off a down season in his final year with the Packers. With Rodgers out for most of the year, his numbers dipped to the tune of 53 catches for just 482 yards and six touchdowns. But he will have the opportunity to bounce back in Oakland, where he, Amari Cooper, and Martavis Bryant will look to provide Carr with three capable playmakers at the receiver spots.
