Although the Las Vegas Raiders and head coach Jon Gruden made former Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Henry Ruggs III the top pass catcher selected in the 2020 NFL Draft, the new look AFC West franchise also seems to realize that the former collegiate standout is still a rookie. Despite the fact that Ruggs III is already becoming a huge part of the Raiders offense and weekly game plan, Gruden recently made a point to acknowledge the fact that his first-year wide out is still a “young player.”

However, due to his status as a well-known player upon entering the league, Ruggs III hasn't been allowed any time to get acclimated with the NFL and has been thrown into the fire. Of course, Ruggs III is currently in the midst of a rookie season unlike any other considering the fact that the ongoing “coronavirus” pandemic nixed this past preseason and significantly altered the offseason in general.

Most recently, Gruden's Raiders came up well short against the surging Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home in Las Vegas. With the Buccaneers getting the best of Gruden and company in Week 6 as Las Vegas fell by the score of 45-20, it is now time for the Raiders to look ahead to a Week 8 matchup against the up-and-coming Cleveland Browns.

Even after the team's blowout loss at the hands of the red-hot Buccaneers, the Raiders still remain right in the thick of the playoff race in the AFC ahead of Week 8 at an even 3-3 on the year.
