Marshawn Lynch has not only bounced back with a strong season for the Oakland Raiders in 2018, he has also proven that he still has plenty of gas left in the tank for future seasons. Even though the Raiders have been struggling mightily this season and are off to a 1-5 start, Lynch has been one of the only bright spots.

Unfortunately, Lynch may be dealing with some injury issues moving forward.

According to a report from Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Lynch will undergo an MRI for a slight groin strain. There have been no further reports about how this could affect Lynch moving forward this season.

Oakland does have a bye week this week, which should give Lynch plenty of time to recover and get back on the field.

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport notes Lynch will undergo an MRI on his injured groin, but the strain isn't viewed as something particularly serious given Oakland has a bye this week.

Throughout the first six games of the season, Lynch has carried the football 90 times for 376 yards and three touchdowns. Those numbers round out to 4.2 yards per carry. Lynch needed that kind of season after the disappointing season that he had in 2017.

Last year, Lynch rushed for 891 yards and seven touchdowns at a 4.3 yards per carry clip. The numbers may not look bad, but he is without question on track to surpass those numbers if he can stay on the field.

At 32 years old, Lynch still has a few good years of football left in him. Oakland needed a legitimate ground game this season and they have it. Now, they simply need to figure things out on defense and in the passing game and they could get back on track.
