At last, Las Vegas Raiders tight end Michael Mayer has found the end zone for the first time in his still very young NFL career. The rookie's first NFL score was also a meaningful one, as it gave Las Vegas the lead for good during Sunday night's 16-12 victory at home over Zach Wilson and the New York Jets.

Mayer was still feeling high on his touchdown even after the game, even telling reporters that he expects to record more.
“Many, many more to come, hopefully,” Mayer shared following the contest, per the Associated Press (h/t ESPN). “It's a really special thing to be able to do that for my teammates, do that for my coaches. This organization's been through a lot the past couple of weeks.”

In the three years he played in college for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Mayer was able to rack up a total of 18 touchdowns to go with 2,099 receiving yards on 180 receptions.
In his final year in Fighting Irish uniform, Mayer, who was taken in the second round (35th overall) by the Raiders in the 2023 NFL Draft, had nine touchdowns and 809 receiving yards on 67 catches.
With Mayer finally making his mark, he could be due for a larger role in the Raiders' offense that is only averaging 17.2 points and 275.4 total yards per game, just 27th and 31st in the league, respectively.
The Raiders will look to win their third game in a row when they visit the Miami Dolphins in Week 11.
