Before free agency begins, NFL teams can place tenders on players before they hit the open market. The Oakland Raiders have decided to place second-round tenders on Jalen Richard and Daryl Worley.

This news comes according to Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review. Both Richard and Worley are expected to sign one-year, $3.095 million deals according to Gehlken.

Any player that has a tender placed on them can receive an offer sheet from any team in the league. The only catch is, the team who placed the tender can match any offer put on the table.

So in this case, any team in the NFL who offers Richard or Worley a contract can have their offer matched by the Raiders.

If the Raiders decide to not match the offer and let them walk, then the team who signs either of them will need to hand over a second-round pick in exchange. It's unlikely any team views either Richard or Worley as players worth giving up a second-round selection for.

Richard is a situational running back who usually is involved as a pass catcher. Richard had a career-high 68 receptions in 2018.

His ability to catch the ball out of the backfield makes him somewhat valuable in today's pass-happy NFL. Richard isn't an every-down back, so it's hard to surrender a second-round pick for him.

Worley has played three seasons in the NFL—one with the Raiders. He started in nine games in 2018, intercepting just one pass.

In 2018, Worley was given a grade of 55.6 by Pro Football Focus—which is 106th among cornerbacks. His age and potential make him an interesting player to keep around for the Raiders. Both of these moves aren't surprising at all—as they are actually win-win situations. For Raiders fans, they will likely see Richard and Worley sporting black and silver in 2o19.
