The Oakland Raiders have struggled to find any type of consistent success through the first seven weeks of the season that has put them in a big hole dropping five of their first six games.

This has seen their offense have much difficulty moving the ball down the field, which could be further compounded with the trade of Amari Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys earlier this week. Despite that, offensive coordinator Greg Olson has voiced that the team will operate in the passing game with the “hot hand” approach to who will carry the load, according to Scott Bair of NBC Sports Bay Area.

The Raiders have had much difficulty finding any true fluidity in their passing game with Pro Bowl quarterback Derek Carr. Entering the season, the hope was that the trio of Cooper, Jordy Nelson, and Martavis Bryant could help elevate the team to the next level.

Instead, it saw Cooper continue to fall into the path of inconsistency that led to the Raiders' willingness to move off of him. Nelson has had flashes of strong performances but hasn't been able to keep that production up throughout the year while Bryant hasn't been much of a factor in the passing game due to the team taking the approach with the emphasis on short to intermediate throws, which limits his ability impact the game with his speed down the field.

That said, the bye week could have been a chance for the team to evaluate their situation and push forward with a different approach to help finally push the team in the right direction. Only time will tell if this is the right game plan for the Raiders moving forward.
