Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden wants to see his brother's team, the Oakland Raiders, on HBO's “Hard Knocks.”
Gruden told The Washington Post's Les Carpenter on May 29 HBO “would be crazy” not to feature Jon Gruden's Raiders for the upcoming 2019 NFL season.
Jay Gruden says HBO would be crazy not not pick his brother’s Raiders for Hard Knocks. It seems his best plea to keep the snow away from the Redskins.

The Redskins mentor told Carpenter the Raiders have the likes of Antonio Brown, Paul Gunther, Vontaze Burfict, Richie Incognito, and of course, Jon Gruden. It's an interesting bunch of characters which should intrigue a huge television audience.
Really, if they were smart, they'd go to Oakland. Seriously. You have Antonio Brown, Jon Gruden, Paul Gunther, Vontaze Burfict, [Richie] Incognito. They'd be crazy not to go to Oakland. They could do us next year, maybe.
“Hard Knocks” is a sports documentary television series which first aired in 2001. It features behind-the-scenes developments of an NFL team's training camp. The 2019 NFL season is the show's 14th season.
HBO has never featured the Redskins in “Hard Knocks.” According to Carpenter, Washington is one of five teams the NFL “will not allow to block HBO from coming.” The other four are the San Francisco 49ers, New York Giants, Oakland Raiders, and Detroit Lions.
Gruden suggested HBO could cover the Redskins next year. When told that teams who make the playoffs can't do Hard Knocks the following summer, he replied: "If we don't make the playoffs I probably won't be here anyways,"

What if HBO decides to feature the Redskins this season? Seeing the likes of Dwayne Haskins, Adrian Peterson, Josh Norman, and Montez Sweat in training camp should be interesting.
Granted, these guys aren't as controversial as the Raiders. However, they should help HBO improve its television ratings this summer.
