The Oakland Raiders have had an incredibly busy offseason, and part of their offseason haul included landing offensive tackle Trent Brown. Brown spent the 2018 campaign with the New England Patriots and played left tackle in all 16 of his starts.

However, he is going to have to become re-accustomed to playing the other side of the line in Oakland, as Raiders head coach Jon Gruden says that Brown will be playing right tackle for the Raiders, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

The reason for this is that Oakland wants to keep Kolton Brown, its first-round draft pick of last year, on the left side.

To be fair, Brown has played right tackle in the past, as he did so during his three-year stint with the San Francisco 49ers to begin his NFL career. However, with the Raiders giving him $66 million, it seems kind of odd that they are moving him away from the position in which he was so successful this past year. Plus, the general rule is that left tackles have a higher degree of importance.

That being said, Brown plays in the same division as Denver Broncos pass rusher Von Miller, whom he will have to block on the right side of the line, so perhaps that played a role in Gruden's decision.

Brown, who played his collegiate football at the University of Florida, was originally selected by the 49ers in the seventh round (244th pick overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

Obviously, he has outperformed his draft positioning, as he has developed into one of the best tackles in the league.
