The Los Angeles Rams punched their ticket to Super Bowl 56 with a thrilling win over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game. A solid effort on both sides of the ball allowed Sean McVay's squad to pull off a come-from-behind victory on their home turf.

After securing the dub, the Rams will now represent the NFC in the Super Bowl to face a relentless Cincinnati Bengals side two weeks from now. It will surely be an exciting matchup, but Matthew Stafford and company are expected to work toward defending their home field and securing a championship at SoFi Stadium.

With that said, let's take a look at three takeaways from the Rams' victory in the NFC Championship Game over the Niners.

Los Angeles Rams NFC Championship Game Takeaways

3. The duo of Cooper Kupp and Odell Beckham Jr. couldn't be stopped

Without a doubt, everyone expected WR1 Cooper Kupp to tally his numbers and show up in a big way, especially in a crucial game. He didn't let anyone down, putting forth a monster performance headlined by 142 yards on 11 catches and two touchdowns on Sunday night.

Aside from him, Odell Beckham Jr. also provided a huge boost to the Rams' offense, generating 113 yards on nine receptions. It was a refreshing sight to see given it was the first 100-yard game he had since October 2019 as a member of the Cleveland Browns. With Robert Woods out for the season, Beckham has stepped up in his place.

Certainly enough, these two receivers played big roles in the team's NFC Championship Game victory and will be expected to contribute once again in their upcoming Super Bowl matchup. If they manage to come up with huge numbers, the Rams will surely gain an upper hand over the Bengals in the title game.

2. The defense of Los Angeles stepped up in a big way

Defensive coordinator Raheem Morris and his men did work on Sunday night. Opposing quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo had his moments, but he had no chance late in the game as the relentless Rams pressure forced him into a number of crucial mistakes, with Aaron Donald playing a key role. Jimmy G finished the game with 232 passing yards on 16-of-30 passing to go with two touchdowns and a backbreaking interception to seal the outcome.

The Rams also did an excellent job stopping the normally stout 49ers running game. Deebo Samuel was held to only 26 rushing yards on seven carries, while Elijah Mitchell merely ran for 20 yards on 11 attempts. Perhaps the biggest difference maker for LA's defense was safety Eric Weddle, who just recently came out of retirement.

Weddle played every defensive snap in the NFC Championship Game and generated nine total tackles. His tackling ability is still on point and was evident when he stopped Mitchell on a drive in the fourth quarter.

With two weeks left until Super Bowl 56, Weddle can still catch up with his conditioning. The Rams will need him, along with their other big-name defenders, to be at their best to contain Joe Burrow and the Bengals' impressive offense in the title game.

1. Matthew Stafford successfully outplayed his counterpart amid the pressure

One of the main factors that allowed the Rams to escape with the victory was the level of composure Matthew Stafford showed all throughout the night. He was unfazed by the moment and managed to play better despite lacking playoff experience as compared to his counterpart.

Yes, the veteran playmaker didn't have a perfect outing, as he got intercepted in the red zone and should have been picked off by opposing safety Jaquiski Tartt in the final frame. Despite those errors, Stafford deserves a ton of credit for sparking the comeback and stepping up when his team needed him most.

Stafford ended the game with 337 yards on 31-of-45 passing to go with two touchdowns and an interception. Surely enough, swapping Jared Goff for Stafford is looking like a golden decision given this run to the Super Bowl, and now the veteran quarterback will try to finish the job for this franchise.
