Matthew Stafford has been solid all season long in his first season with the Los Angeles Rams. On Monday night, he proved once again why acquiring him was the best decision of the Rams in a long time.
In the third quarter against NFC West rival Arizona Cardinals, Stafford connected with wide receiver Van Jefferson on an awesome 52-yard touchdown pass to give the Rams the lead, 19-13. The 33-year-old Stafford has been finding his teammates all season long, seemingly rejuvenating his career after 11 empty seasons with the lowly Detroit Lions. Just looking at him, it's clear the 2011 Comeback Player of the Year has regained a sense of joy on the field.
The Rams scored another touchdown in the third quarter, with Stafford connecting with wide receiver Cooper Kupp this time around, giving them a steady lead heading into the final frame.
Stafford's stellar play propelled the Rams to the critical win, 30-23. They improved to 9-4 and inched closer to the Cardinals, who fell to 10-3, for the top spot in NFC West.
