Roster cuts in the NFL were made on Saturday. Fans of the Los Angeles Rams were upset to see one of their favorites released. After becoming a star on HBO's ‘Hard Knocks', Donte Deayon was let go of by the Rams, per ESPN's Lindsey Thiry.

Deayon quickly became a favorite on ‘Hard Knocks' after the cornerback made a comedic entrance in the first episode with All-Pro Aaron Donald. The energetic cornerback was attempting to boast about his weight gain during the offseason while Donald flashed his impressive physique.

While he stood out on the HBO series, Deayon was also making a name for himself on the Rams. After spending the majority of his first two seasons with the New York Giants, Deayon joined the Rams in 2018. He would then re-sign with Los Angeles for the 2019 season.

For the most part, Deayon was a special-teams contributor for the Rams in his short time with the team. Altogether, of his 87 snaps with Los Angeles, 44 of them came on special teams.

Unfortunately for Deayon, the Rams have become a deep team at the cornerback position. Besides All-Pro Jalen Ramsey, Los Angeles also employs Troy Hill, David Long, and Darious Williams at cornerback.

Standing at 5-foo-9, nearly 160 pounds, Deayon is considered to be undersized as a defensive back. Provided that, he's likely best suited as a nickel cornerback if he's not inserted on special teams.

Even though Deayon was waived on Saturday, the Rams could look to add him to their practice squad if he clears waivers. In all likeliness, fans in Los Angeles will likely be crossing their fingers for this to be the case with Deayon.
