The Los Angeles Rams are set to travel to Florida to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for their NFC Divisional Game. Running back Cam Akers made his season debut in the Rams' regular-season finale against the San Francisco 49ers. He also played in their Wild Card win over the Arizona Cardinals last weekend.
This weekend, the Los Angeles run game will be stronger than ever. The Rams announced Friday afternoon that Darrell Henderson is designated to return from the team's Injured Reserve.
This is a huge boost for the Rams, who need all hands on deck to beat Tom Brady and the defending Super Bowl champions.
Henderson was put on IR on December 28, after sustaining an MCL sprain in his right knee in Week 16. Before this, the running back recorded 149 rushing attempts for 688 yards and five touchdowns in 12 games. Sony Michel was the main component of the Rams' run game in the absence of Henderson and Akers,
Defensive lineman Sebastian Joseph-Day and defensive back Robert Rochell are also designated to return from Injured Reserve. Joseph-Day is recovering from a pectoral injury, while Rochell was on IR with a chest injury.
The Rams are in the best situation possible for their matchup against the Buccaneers. They continue to struggle with injuries, with running back Leonard Fournette still questionable for Sunday afternoon.
