Just a few months ago, some folks were implying that Odell Beckham Jr.'s career was over after the Cleveland Browns came to a shocking decision to waive the services of the three-time Pro Bowler. That narrative did not age well at all with OBJ now just one win away from heading to the Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams.

Just days away from LA's NFC Championship game against the San Francisco 49ers, Beckham had a special message for all the people who doubted him and for those who continue to hate on him to this very day:

“The world needs to place their finger on something to feel comfortable with what it is and whenever it comes to me, they want to label me as this selfish, this, diva, blah, blah, blah. All of the things that are said, like I told you, mean absolutely nothing to me,” Beckham said, via Lindsey Thiry of ESPN. “I chose to come here because I [saw] a great opportunity and knowing that I'd be able to play great football — not come in here thinking I'm going to be the No. 1 receiver.

“The whole perception of me, it's no offense to anybody, but I don't really care because I just know who I am ultimately. And I know what kind of teammate I am, what kind of person I am.”

As soon as news broke that Beckham was joining the Rams, another storyline that surfaced centered around how his ego could cause more harm than good in LA. Again, this turned out to be an utter pile of BS. Beckham has flourished in his role with the Rams and as he described in his statement above, he left his ego outside the door the moment he joined the team.

OBJ did not stop there. He got more specific about how his arrival impacted Rams star WR Cooper Kupp and the tremendous season he was having prior to the Rams signing Beckham. According to OBJ, he knew exactly what LA needed from him and he had no intention whatsoever of getting in Kupp's way:

“Man, I find it funny. All the talks and everything that's ever been said about me — ‘me guy' and all this — and it's like people are going to say whatever, but just have no idea,” Beckham said. “And when I chose to come here, I'm knowing that Coop's on pace to break a record. I didn't come here thinking, ‘Oh, I got to get my targets.' Like that's just not being me.”

True enough, Beckham has been a revelation for the Rams. He's played his part and it has resulted in LA now heading into the NFC title match on Sunday.

Unfortunately, all of this will be for nothing if the Rams lose. A lot will be on the line for LA but perhaps even more so for Odell Beckham Jr. The haters will undoubtedly feast if the Rams fall to the 49ers and they will take it as an opportunity to start bashing OBJ again. Beckham definitely understands what is at stake in Sunday's title game and there's no doubt that he will be entering that contest with an everything-to-lose mindset that is required for a game of such magnitude.

Buckle in folks, this should be a good one.
