With a certain former coach out in the world claiming partial success for the Rams playing well, Los Angeles players want to make sure Sean McVay gets the proper recognition he deserves.

For those unaware, former Rams coach Jeff Fisher is claiming partial responsibility for the team's success, even though the franchise was a dumpster fire during his tenure.

“I'm a huge fan of the Ram players,” Fisher told The Midday 180 on Friday. “They're basically, I don't want to say my players, but I had a lot to do with that roster. Left them in pretty good shape. And Sean, as he's proven in this very short period of time, is an outstanding, young coach. And he's got the offense rolling, which they needed.”

Ugh… OK then.

Anyway, players aren't having it. Instead, they are pointing to Sean McVay as the reason for the uptick in play.

“I would like to say I can speak for the guys who have been here, and everything we went through,” linebacker Robert Quinn said. “With McVay and (defensive coordinator) Wade (Phillips) leading this team, I don’t know what they did, but they just brought the best out of everybody, brought some new guys in and everybody rose up to the challenge.”

“It’s just everything he’s done since he got here,” Jared Goff said. “From day one, it’s been so impressive. He hasn’t changed a bit. Same demeanor every day, and goes about his business the same way, and I think it rubs off on the players and rubs off on me for sure.”

While Jumpin' Jeff Fisher appears thrilled with the idea of him being a part of this build, McVay has been far more modest when asked about his part in the team's improvement.

“I am just happy for those (players) and just happy to be a part of it,” McVay said.

If you have to say you are a king (Fisher), then you're probably no king at all. As for McVay, he continues to walk quietly, but with a big bleeping stick.
