Following the Los Angeles Rams' brilliant victory in Super Bowl 56 over the Cincinnati Bengals, the rumors began to swirl that Aaron Donald could retire now that he has a ring. Well on Wednesday, the champions held their epic Super Bowl parade in LA, and head coach Sean McVay was extremely vocal about the idea of his defensive star returning to the Rams for another year.
It sure looks and sounds like Sean McVay and Aaron Donald want to run it back. 😀 pic.twitter.com/8WdBdMUD0F

McVay made it clear: He wants Donald back. The veteran also echoed his comments, basically saying that if the Rams have a super team again next season, why not run it back and try to win it all again. While they're probably both very intoxicated at this point, Donald is the heart and soul of Los Angeles and it would be hard to even imagine this squad without the 30-year-old.
There are reports saying Donald is seeking a new contract that would make him the highest-paid defensive player in the NFL, just in order to return in 2022. His current contract will pay him just $14 million next season. If the Rams really do want him headlining their defense again, they should put a new deal on the table. After all, he's a massive reason for their success and played a key part on Sunday, notching two sacks and putting serious pressure on Joe Burrow on the game-clinching drive.
