The Los Angeles Rams were defeated by the San Francisco 49ers in Week 18. Despite their loss, the Rams managed to clinch the NFC West thanks to the Arizona Cardinals' loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Via Rams Communications, Rams head coach Sean McVay had a bittersweet reaction to the NFC West division title despite the loss to the 49ers.

“Yeah, I mean, in the moment right now, this is a tough feeling. Our guys did a good job being able to navigate through the season. To be able to still win the division is a good accomplishment, but I don't know that right now is a time to celebrate that. We'll look at this film, we'll clean it up, and we'll move forward the right way. This is a resilient group.”

The Rams, who, like other teams, dealt with injuries and absences due to COVID, still managed to win the division, which is an impressive accomplishment, as Sean McVay noted. It's especially impressive considering the fact that the NFC West is home to two other playoff teams, making it one of the more challenging groups to navigate in the NFL.

While proud of his team, McVay knows that now is not the time for celebration, as the Rams are gearing up to take on the division-rival Cardinals, who they split the season-series with, in a tough Wild Card round battle.

Sean McVay and the Rams won't be celebrating their NFC West title. They'll be looking at film, cleaning up mistakes and moving forward.

McVay and the Rams have bigger goals than a division title.
