As the eminent philosopher 50 Cent once profoundly opined: Get rich or die tryin'. Well, if that's the case, Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. needs to try more. Maybe more more.
Article Continues BelowBeckham recently made headlines when he became the latest athlete to request his salary in Bitcoin. But so far, it literally hasn't paid off. According to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, citing reports from Sports Business Daily and CNBC’s TechCheck, the Rams star saw his salary get cut in half after prices of Bitcoin crashed (like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers perhaps?).
We're not really well-versed about cryptocurrency (or math in general), but that's a pretty huge discrepancy.
But for now, OBJ might not be getting worried too much. After all, he should focus on the Rams' upcoming NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. Beckham was instrumental in their huge win over the Buccaneers in the divisional round and if he can keep it up, maybe he'll get Bitcoin prices up.
Because as 50 Cent also eloquently posited: Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, shawty.
