Things have continued to twist and turn in the drama surrounding New York Giants star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.'s future after a controversy in wake of a viral video of him with what appear to be illegal substances.

It has created a sense that the front office may entertain trading him this offseason. According to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, the Los Angeles Rams were among the first teams to reach to the Giants to acquire the 25-year-old.

The L.A. Rams, according to multiple NFL sources, already have talked with the Giants about possibly trading for the dynamic wide receiver and turning him from a Big Apple phenom into a Hollywood star.

The Rams have been quite active this offseason, making several moves in the trade market to add talent to the defensive side of the ball. One of these trades was with the Giants, moving veteran linebacker Alec Ogletree for a couple mid-round draft picks last month. This previous trade dialogue could be used to Los Angeles' favor given that they may have insight on what type of personnel the Giants could be looking to add in a deal aside from their 2018 first-round pick.

The addition of Beckham Jr. would more than fill the void left by the loss of Sammy Watkins, who decided to ink a three-year, $48 million deal with the Kansas City Chiefs in free agency.

Beckham has already proven to be one of the top wide receivers in the league through his first four seasons, breaking numerous records along the way. He is the first player to record at least 90 catches, 1,200 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns in his first three seasons.

That said, there are reports that suggest that it is currently unlikely that the Giants will move on from Beckham Jr., as the two sides have just begun extension talks. How the contract discussion transpires moving forward could hinge on if they are willing to commit to a lucrative deal that may make him the highest-paid wide receiver in the league. If not, the trade talks could quickly take a serious turn.
