The Texas Rangers will continue their three-game series with the Minnesota Twins on Saturday at Target Field. We're here to share our MLB odds series, make a Rangers-Twins prediction, and pick while showing you how to watch.

The Rangers have struggled a lot recently. Unfortunately, they suffered a sweep at the hands of the Philadelphia Phillies before this series and had lost four in a row coming into this series. Texas was 2-10 over 12 games before this showdown.

The Twins won two of three against the Washington Nationals before heading into this series. Overall, it nearly salvaged a road trip where they went 2-4. The Twins will host the Rangers and the Kansas City Royals on this homestand.

The Twins won the season series 5-2 in 2023. Significantly, they went 3-1 over four games at Target Field against the Rangers last season. But the Rangers went a combined 6-2 over the previous eight games at Target Field. Ultimately, both teams will toss out some starting pitchers who will hope to give them the edge.

Michael Lorenzen starts for the Rangers. He is 2-3 with a 3.61 ERA. Recently, he went 6 1/3 innings while allowing two earned runs on three hits while striking out six and walking three in a loss to the Los Angeles Angels. Lorenzen has hit six innings in six straight starts. Moreover, he has had a quality start in four of six outings.

Chris Paddack starts for the Twins. He is 4-2 with a 4.47 ERA. Substantially, he went eight innings while allowing two earned runs on three hits while striking out six in a no-decision against the Cleveland Guardians. But Paddack has a quality start in just two of four outings.

Why The Rangers Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Rangers are struggling right now, and their offense has been part of the problem. So far, they are 12th in batting average and 10th in on-base percentage. Texas also ranks 13th in runs, 11th in home runs, and 16th in slugging percentage.

Marcus Semien has shown some signs of life. Going into this weekend, he was hitting .263 with nine home runs, 34 RBIs, and 37 runs. Corey Seager looks to get more traction. So far, he is batting .253 with eight home runs, 19 RBIs, and 21 runs. Nathaniel Lowe needs to display more power. Unfortunately, he is hitting just .264 with only two home runs, 14 RBIs, and 15 runs. Adolis Garcia has continued to clobber the baseball. Right now, he is batting .253 with 12 home runs, 36 RBIs, and 25 runs.

The Rangers have not pitched well this season. So far, they are 18th in team ERA. Their bullpen continues to struggle. Unfortunately, they are still the worst bullpen in baseball.

The Rangers will cover the spread if their offense can batter the baseball early in the game. Then, they need Lorenzen to pitch well.

Why The Twins Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Twins are playing inconsistent baseball, and their offense has been stagnant at times. Currently, they are 19th in batting average and 23rd in on-base percentage. Minnesota also ranks 13th in runs, 11th in home runs, and slugging percentage.

Carlos Correa is not doing much. At the moment, he is batting .268 with four home runs, 13 RBIs, and 18 runs. Max Kepler is hitting consistently. Currently, he is hitting .311 with four home runs, 18 RBIs, and 16 runs. Ryan Jeffers has displayed some power. Significantly, he is batting .255 with 10 home runs, 32 RBIs, and 23 runs. Byron Buxton is hoping to get more hits. So far, he is hitting .257 with three home runs, 15 RBIs, and 16 runs.

The Twins are mediocre on the mound. Ultimately, they are 19th in team ERA. Their bullpen is not much better. So far, they are 18th in team ERA.

The Twins will cover the spread if their lineup can find a way to make things difficult for Lorenzen. Then, Paddack needs to avoid making mistakes in this one.

Final Rangers-Twins Prediction & Pick

The Rangers have struggled recently. Even more, their offense has not done much either. In fact, five of their past seven games have gone under the spread. But the Twins are still hitting the baseball. Overall, three of their past five games have gone over the spread. This is also a day game, and neither pitcher is particularly elite. Look for the runs to pile on as the Rangers and Twins combine for at least nine runs. The over hits.
