Bradley Beal scored 25 points against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday, but it didn't come easy. In fact, the Washington Wizards guard had a difficult time that even his scoring exploits were not enough to propel them to victory.

Naturally, Beal heaped praised on the Raptors' defense after the contest. He particularly credited head coach Nick Nurse for always making life hard for him whenever they meet.

“Coach Nurse is always an interesting coach. He always has some junkyard defense to throw my way and make things difficult,” Beal said, per Chase Hughes of NBC Sports.

Bradley Beal shot 8-of-18 during Wednesday's contest, which is well within his average this 2021-22. However, the Raptors made him work for each point–which clearly impacted Beal's play.

Meanwhile, the Raptors saw four starters score in double-figures. Fred VanVleet led the way with 33 points, while OG Anunoby had 21. Toronto escaped with a 109-100 victory to improve to 6-3 on the season.

Despite the departure of Kyle Lowry and the absence of a true superstar, the Raptors continue to thrive under Nick Nurse. Indeed, Beal is right in his praise for the champion coach, who continues to show why he is one of the best in the NBA.

For Beal, though, he's certainly hoping he can get back at the Raptors for the loss when they meet again in early December.
