Kawhi Leonard was completely unaware that his awkward laugh during Toronto Raptors media day had become an internet sensation, now a viral meme used by NBA fans across the world.

When told that, Leonard's reaction was to be expected, a rather mum one — something that Toronto-based media will have to get used to even more with two wings in him and OG Anunoby being the proverbial monks of this Raptors team.

Asked if he was surprised by the fans' reaction to his press conference bit, Leonard answered rather nonchalantly.

“No, but then again I don't really know what people are thinking” he said. “I don't have social media and I don't really read what people say.”

“It's not surprising when you're at this high of a caliber player for people to look at everything you do, so it just comes with the territory.”

Leonard's awkwardly painful laugh was a mix of obligatory and unawarely sincere, as his demeanor is known to be as dull as this interview and less like the “fun guy” he proclaimed to be during the early presser.

Raptors fans will take the painfully quiet headlines, so long as the team wins games. The Klaw recently put up 12 points in his preseason debut against the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday, still shaking off some rust since his last time through NBA action.

“It's going to take time to get my rhythm, but I felt great being out there and just being able to compete. Just having fun,” Leonard said.

If he keeps progressing and getting back to his Finals MVP form, there will be a shortage of memes to choose from, but plenty of highlights to see from the 27-year-old wing.
