Toronto Raptors center Marc Gasol admitted that he “felt pretty crappy” after his poor showing in Games 1 and 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Milwaukee Bucks. However, right after their Game 3 victory which brought the series to 2-1, he feels a whole lot better.

“When you play like crap and your team wins it's a lot easier to sleep,” the Spanish center said, per Josh Lewenberg of The Sports Network. “Obviously the last 48 hours it felt pretty crappy. So I'm happy we won tonight.”

In Game 1, Gasol scored just six points on 2-of-11 from the field across 40 minutes. In Game 2, his output plummeted to just two points on 1-of-9 shooting across 19 minutes. As one of the key players of the Nick Nurse-led squad, Gasol's horrendous performance translated into losses.

Nonetheless, come Game 3, Gasol redeemed himself with 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field and 4-of-8 from 3-point distance. He was all over the court as he also recorded 12 rebounds, seven dimes, five blocks and one steal.

Indeed, Gasol hushed the naysayers after his big game. From the looks of it, the formula seems simple. If everyone in the Raptors squad — especially key players like Gasol — performs well, then they have a good chance at locking in a victory.

Let's see if Gasol can replicate and improve on his Game 3 performance. Game 4 will be on Tuesday, May 21, in Toronto.
