When the Toronto Raptors acquired big man Marc Gasol in a midseason trade with the Memphis Grizzlies back in February, they knew that he would possibly be a half-year rental, as Gasol can opt out of his contract this summer.

But does Gasol have any idea what he will do when the time comes?

It's not something he even wants to discuss right now:

“We'll see when we get there,” said Gasol, according to Yaron Weitzman of Bleacher Report. “It would be pointless for me to say anything now. Not because I'm hiding anything, but I would be lying, it's just impossible to know. We'll have to see what makes sense for everyone. You can't weigh things on a scale before you have everything to weigh. I much rather focus on the present and make the most of it.”

Gasol played in 26 games for the Raptors during the regular season and made 19 starts, averaging 9.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.9 assists over 24.9 minutes per game while shooting 46.5 percent from the floor, 44.2 percent from three-point range and 76.9 percent from the free-throw line.

His numbers have been nearly the same in the playoffs, as he has registered 8.7 points, 5.2 boards, 3.1 assists and 1.3 steals across 28.7 minutes a night through nine postseason contests.

The 34-year-old has a $25.6 million player option for next year. It seems somewhat hard to imagine Gasol ever making $25.6 million again in any one season for the rest of his NBA career, so there certainly seems to be a distinct possibility that the Spaniard ends up picking up his option to remain in Toronto through 2020.
