According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Toronto Raptors wing Terence Davis' assault charges have been dismissed by the New York District Attorney's Office.

Last Oct. 2020, Davis was arrested in a luxury building for allegedly hitting his girlfriend. In response, the Raptors released a statement on the role of the Joint NBA-NBPA Policy on Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse and that the team will be in full cooperation to settle the matter.

As Davis has been presumed innocent until proven guilty, he has not received any suspension or penalty from either the Raptors or the league. Although Davis has been cleared by the legal system, this episode will be a stain on his young career moving forward.

The 23-year-old worked his way up from being undrafted to being a part of the Toronto rotation. This is similar to the stories of his teammates, Fred VanVleet and Chris Boucher. Of course, the two are more essential to the team, but Davis can be a spark off the bench. Davis provides instant offense for his team and can hit outside shots at a respectable clip.

Toronto has a 14-15 record, which places them sixth in the Eastern Conference. With players like VanVleet, Boucher, Kyle Lowry, and Pascal Siakam, the Raptors are hoping for a deep playoff run. The team had a slow start to the season but started to pick up steam. Recently, they bested the Milwaukee Bucks in back-to-back games.
