The Toronto Raptors have been cautiously monitoring the health of forward Kawhi Leonard all year. The former Finals MVP has just returned this season after missing almost the entirety of the last one due to a quad injury.

Leonard has already sat out games due to load management, as the Raptors want to make sure that they are able to take good care of him as they prepare to make a deep run in the playoffs.

In an interview with Eric Koreen of The Athletic, Raptors head coach Nick Nurse indicated that the plan remains the same for Leonard; for him to sit out games when necessary.

“I think there’s a few games yet that he’ll probably stay out.”

Leonard has been healthy for the majority of the season. Aside from several minor injuries, there have really been no setbacks for him since his return and he seems to be back in top shape.

Leonard has been the major reason why the Raptors are one of the best teams in the East. They currently own the second best record in the league at 47-19, and with the postseason just a few weeks away, expect Kawhi to take his game to another level.

As has been evident all season, Leonard is arguably the best two-way player in the league. He's averaging 27.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.3 steals per game, and is shooting a superb 49.7 from the field.
