The NBA offseason is here for most teams. With free agency around the corner, teams are starting to ponder some free-agent decisions. For the Toronto Raptors, they have decisions to make, most notably with Kyle Lowry and Gary Trent Jr. According to John Hollinger of The Athletic, the Raptors are nearing decisions on them, with Trent Jr. likely to re-sign with Toronto.

Hollinger also spoke on the decision regarding Lowry, who the Raptors floated at the trade deadline only to wind up keeping him for the second half of the season.

“The Raptors could take their good fortune in a variety of directions, and in particular, this may make it easier to move on from 35-year-old free-agent guard Kyle Lowry.”

Lowry will likely command a decent-sized contract from a championship contender in the summer, and the 4th pick in the NBA Draft would help Toronto ease the pain of losing the veteran point guard.

Trent Jr. came over at the trade deadline for Norman Powell and played well down the stretch, so bringing him back makes sense for both sides.

As free agency officially draws near, it will be interesting for many teams, and after the Raptors missed out on the playoffs they have some big decisions to make.
