The Baltimore Ravens are reportedly in the market to add depth at wide receiver, and Michael Silver of NFL Network reported Wednesday they could be in on Antonio Brown, who's set to return from a suspension after Week 8. The Ravens apparently did their “due diligence” on Brown in the offseason.
However, NFL reporter Josina Anderson said Thursday the Ravens likely wouldn't be adding Brown. Instead, she revealed Dez Bryant could be a practice squad candidate. That was soon corroborated:
The #Ravens plan to sign veteran WR Dez Bryant to the practice squad if his workout goes well and he passes a physical, source said. Baltimore previously worked out Bryant in August, so this is more of a check-in. He should land in Baltimore, finally.

Bryant, 31, last played in the NFL in 2017, his eighth season with the Dallas Cowboys. The three-time Pro Bowler had 69 catches for 838 yards. In 2018, Bryant signed with the New Orleans Saints, only to suffer a torn Achilles immediately after joining the team. Now, it appears Bryant will get a shot with the Ravens, even if it's only a practice squad spot.
As for Brown, ESPN's Adam Schefter named the Seattle Seahawks as one of a number of teams that could look to add the veteran wideout. Schefter didn't specify any other franchises.
Brown, 32, was suspended without pay for multiple violations of the league's personal conduct policy, and he still faces multiple investigations and legal charges. He was released by the New England Patriots in September 2019.
