The Baltimore Ravens and all pro kicker Justin Tucker have agreed on a four-year extension according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The extension includes an $8 million signing bonus and will pay him $12.5 million that is fully guaranteed in the first two years. The $5.763 million-per-season average sets an NFL record for a kickers salary. The previous high was held by New England Patriots kicker Stephen Gostowski who signed a contract that paid him $4.25 million per year.

There is a chance that when Robbie Gould is traded or signs a long term extension, he could be paid more and this contract will reset the market value for kickers.

This seems like a lot of money to pay a kicker but Tucker is basically automatic on extra points and field goals and constantly makes long-distance bombs. Tucker currently has a 90.114% field-goal rate which makes him the most accurate kicker in NFL history.

The first two years of this contract being fully guaranteed also give the team an out after two years if Tucker starts to struggle or the team decides they want to move in a different direction.

Tucker is expected to speak to the media on Thursday afternoon and we should get more reaction from him during that press conference.

This is the third contract extension for the Ravens this offseason. They also re-signed tight end Nick Boyle and cornerback Tavon Young to extensions to keep them in the purple and black. With this extension in place the team can now turn their focus to the NFL draft.
