The Baltimore Ravens are in the market for a running back after a pair of injuries to J.K. Dobbins and now Justice Hill. However, the Ravens do have some good news about their organization.
On Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network announced that the Ravens agreed to sign Pro Bowl tight end Mark Andrews to a huge contract extension. The extension is for four years and $56 million to keep the talented pass-catcher with Lamar Jackson for the years to come.
This was one of Baltimore's goals all offseason and they finally got it done. Andrews has been one of the best tight ends in the league since he entered in 2018. In his rookie campaign, he had 552 yards and three scores from the Ravens.
In 2019 and 2020, he combined for more than 1500 yards and 17 touchdowns, with double-digit scores in the 2019 campaign, so bringing him back with a big deal is a monster move for the Ravens, especially with their recent luck regarding their pass-catchers.
The Ravens kick off the season on Monday Night Football against the Las Vegas Raiders, and this extension is definitely a relief for both sides as they can focus on winning football games for the next few years.
