The Baltimore Ravens worked out several free agents on Friday, including former Pittsburgh Steelers inside linebacker Jon Bostic, according to Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic.

Bostic signed a two-year, $4 million deal with the Steelers in free agency last season. He went on to start 14 of 16 games at left inside linebacker for Pittsburgh, finishing the 2018 season with 73 tackles, five tackles for loss, two and-a-half sacks, and three passes defensed.

The 28-year-old was a second-round pick of the Chicago Bears in 2013. He played in all 16 games for the Bears as a rookie, starting nine at middle linebacker. Bostic lost a training camp battle to veteran D.J. Williams to be Chicago's starting middle linebacker the following season, and was traded to the New England Patriots in September 2015. His tenure with New England didn't last long, as he was again on the move via trade the next spring, this time to the Detroit Lions in exchange for a seventh-round pick. The University of Florida product missed the entire 2016 season due to injury, then signed a one-year, $690,000 deal with the Indianapolis Colts, where he somewhat rejuvenated his wayward career.

Baltimore is reeling from the defection of standout inside linebacker C.J. Mosley, who signed a five-year, $85 million contract with the New York Jets as a free agent. Mosley has made the Pro Bowl and been named Second Team All-Pro in four of his five NFL seasons, indicative of the gaping hole he leaves in the middle of Baltimore's defense.

Replacing a defender of Mosley's caliber is rarely accomplished by one player. If the Ravens like what they saw from Bostic on Friday, he'll have the chance to be among several players trying to fill Mosley's shoes at inside linebacker.
