The Baltimore Ravens have their toughest matchup of the year in Week 9. Even at 5-2 and playing as the home team, they are set as the underdogs.

That is because Baltimore is going up against the New England Patriots. The 8-0 Patriots, that is.

However, it looks like the Ravens will be going into the game with a little extra firepower. Superstar safety Earl Thomas will be available.

This is such massive news. Obviously, any team will be seen as underdogs to the Patriots. That defense has been absolutely unstoppable this season.

Baltimore has a pretty exciting defense too. And possibly the biggest part of that is Thomas. The safety is in his first year with the team and he makes such a difference.

Thomas helps in the running game and is a threat in the passing game. He's a big hitter who can make a game-changing play at any moment.

Due to that, it is imperative to have him on the field. Especially against an offense as polished as New England's.

The Ravens recently traded for cornerback Marcus Peters. The idea was to pair him with Thomas to make an absolutely lethal combination in the secondary.

However, the injury to Thomas threatened to put that on hold after the world got a glimpse of the duo.

Now it appears the NFL world will not have to wait. That's great news for the Ravens as in the only game they've played with the two of them was a convincing win over the Seattle Seahawks. In that game, Peters had an impressive interception returned for a touchdown.

Now it looks like they'll get a chance for an encore in Week 9 against the Patriots.
