Jacksonville Jaguars star cornerback Jalen Ramsey made headlines with his wide-ranging interview with GQ magazine that saw him critique many of the quarterbacks in the NFL.

However, he also directed praise toward Baltimore Ravens rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson, stating that he believes the 21-year-old will excel with the team given his skill set and the type of players offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg likes to use. (h/t Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk)

“I would’ve picked [Jackson] earlier than 32,” Ramsey said. “I think he’s gonna do a good job. Especially with the [Ravens’] offensive coordinator — he likes running quarterbacks, likes that read option. And just being honest about it, [Joe] Flacco sucks. I played him two years in a row. He sucks.”

Jackson is an intriguing prospect entering the league given what he has shown he can do at the quarterback position. He is a legitimate dual-threat with both his arm and legs.

In his brief action in the preseason, Jackson has shown he can make plays through the air and ground, passing for a touchdown while running for another. Once he gets a shot to be the starting quarterback, he could develop into a star.

The Ravens continue to speak highly of the Louisville standout, making it possible that he gets a chance to show what he can do in the regular season. He is still developing his skill set to be a more efficient and effective passer, but his high ceiling has the organization buzzing. It remains to be seen how high he takes his game.
