When J.K. Dobbins went down with a torn ACL in the preseason finale for the Baltimore Ravens, it ended his season and sent a deflating feeling across the team.

It was set to be a promising year for the second year back out of Ohio State and now the Ravens will have to do it without him. On Tuesday, Dobbins reassured Baltimore fans that he will be back and better than he's ever been.

Without Dobbins in the fold, the Ravens will likely lean heavily on Gus Edwards unless they opt to dip into free agency and sign another running back.

Baltimore's offense is heavy on the run game so missing Dobbins and trying to replace him will be no easy task for Lamar Jackson and the rest of that unit.

Following his season ending injury in the exhibition finale, many questioned the decision by Ravens head coach John Harbaugh to even play Dobbins at all.

“…There are other teams that don’t play their guys at all,” Harbaugh said. “They don’t play their starters for one snap. We are probably as close to that as we’ve … I know we’re farther down that road than we’ve ever been. We played our guys so little this offseason. It’s just been how we’ve done it. But anytime a guy gets hurt, you ask yourself those questions.”

The good news for the Ravens is that Dobbins clearly has the right mindset heading into his rehab and recovery process as it will be a long way back from his torn ACL.
