After J.K. Dobbins suffered a season ending ACL injury for the Baltimore Ravens in their preseason finale, some questioned the decision to even have Dobbins playing in the exhibition.

On Monday, via ESPN, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh addressed that choice while saying, “It's a fair conversation.”

“But there are other teams that don't play their guys at all,” Harbaugh said. “They don't play their starters for one snap. We are probably as close to that as we've … I know we're farther down that road than we've ever been. We played our guys so little this offseason. It's just been how we've done it. But anytime a guy gets hurt, you ask yourself those questions.”

Obviously Harbaugh is hurting that Dobbins suffered the season ending injury for the Ravens in a game that meant nothing. It's a tough balancing act every year for coaches in the NFL as they try and figure out how much time, if any, they should give their starters.

With Dobbins out for the year, the Ravens will lean heavily on Gus Edwards and might even dip into the free agency waters to try and scoop up a running back. One name that has been brought up externally is Todd Gurley, who is currently a free agent.

Dobbins figured to be a big part of the game plan on offense for the Ravens this season and now they'll have to keep the run game super effective without having him available.
