Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson returned to practice on Friday after missing Thursday's session due to an illness, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com.
Jackson is coming off of a Week 9 performance in which he completed 17 of his 23 passes for 163 yards and a touchdown while carrying the ball 16 times for 61 yards and a couple of scores in a 37-20 win over the New England Patriots.
On the season overall, Jackson has thrown for 1,813 yards, 12 touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 64.3 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 95.4. In addition, he has rushed for 637 yards and five scores while averaging an NFL-best 6.4 yards per attempt.
The 22-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Louisville, was originally selected by the Ravens in the first round (32nd pick overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft.
He started his rookie campaign backing up Joe Flacco, but a midseason injury to Flacco thrust Jackson into the starting lineup.
For the 2018 season, Jackson threw for 1,201 yards, six touchdowns and three picks while completing 58.2 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 84.5. He also totaled 695 yards while reaching the end zone five times on the ground, logging 4.7 yards per carry.
Most importantly, Jackson led Baltimore to an AFC North division title. The Ravens would then go on to lose to the Los Angeles Chargers in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.
But thanks to an improved Jackson this season, the Ravens are 6-2 and look like a legitimate contender in the AFC.
Baltimore will take on the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
