Marquise Brown was constantly on the injury report for the Baltimore Ravens in his rookie season and he's trying to prevent that from happening in 2020. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Brown underwent surgery to remove a screw from his foot.
The Ravens selected Brown with the 25th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. The Oklahoma wideout got off to a fast start to his NFL career as he hauled in four receptions for 147 yards and two touchdowns in his debut versus the Miami Dolphins in Week 1.
Despite him displaying an ability to stretch the field, Brown was never one-hundred percent healthy in 2019. Even though he was hampered by a foot injury, the first-year receiver finished with 46 receptions for 584 yards and seven touchdowns.
Recently, Brown underwent surgery to remove the screw that created issues for him in 2019. While he will need time to recover, the Ravens expect him to be ready for training camp. It remains to be seen if he's limited in any capacity during offseason activities.
Altogether, Brown missed two games with the foot injury this season. Now, with the surgery he received, the speedy wideout is hoping to be able to avoid missing any time in 2020.
Heading into his second season, it is vital for Brown to continue building a rapport with Lamar Jackson. However, it may be a couple of months before the two can throw together. After his latest surgery, it's safe to say that we could get an even better version of Brown next season.
