The Baltimore Ravens finished number one in the NFL last season in total defense judging by the yards per game given up statistic. The Ravens' defensive success earned them the number one seed in the American Football Conference (AFC), a distinction that could not save them from falling to the Kansas City Chiefs in a 17-10 loss this past January.

Coach John Harbaugh's team is retooling this offseason with an eye on bringing its core back together, and now news has broken via The Pat McAfee Show that veteran linebacker Kyle Van Noy will be back for another season with the ‘Birds.

The news was announced during a period in which the Ravens' three sleeper draft pick ideas were examined more closely. Ravens QB Lamar Jackson's role as the ‘architect' of Baltimore's offensive attack this upcoming season was also broken down.

On Thursday, the McAfee Show shared the news on air in a fashion that has fans talking on X.

Pat McAfee's Van Noy Announcement

The announcement included information on the details of the new contract for Van Noy, who was drafted by the Detroit Lions and spent years in New England with the Patriots. Van Noy's deal is for four years according to the McAfee Show, which airs live during daytime hours and is hosted by former NFL player Pat McAfee.

Van Noy set a career high in sacks last season with nine, his highest total since recording 6.5 sacks in 2019.

The former second round pick out of Brigham Young University started off with a world of potential in Detroit but didn't quite live up to it until 2017, when he became a productive pass rusher with Coach Bill Belichick's Patriots. Van Noy is a 6-foot-3, 245 pound linebacker who creates havoc in opposing backfields.

Hailing from Reno, Nevada, he previously played with the Lions, Patriots and Chargers before finding his new home with Lamar Jackson, John Harbaugh and the Ravens in Baltimore.

“He had a great season for them” McAfee said on his talk show, referring to Van Noy as ‘The Mormon Monster.'

“He seemingly loved the culture, loved the team, loved everything about being a Raven quickly,” McAfee added in regards to Van Noy's feelings toward his current and future team.
