The Baltimore Ravens Week 16 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals has massive playoff implications. The teams are tied atop the AFC North standings, but Cincinnati won their previous meeting, 41-17. That makes this a must-win for Baltimore if they want to win the division.

In last week's loss to the Green Bay Packers, the Ravens were missing key players all over the field. Things are not getting any easier.

The Ravens will head into their game against the Bengals with 11 defensive players on injured reserve and nine others on the COVID-19 reserve list.

That has left defensive coordinator Don Martindale to wonder what in the world they are doing. According to the Baltimore Sun's Ryan McFadden, Martindale compared the team's COVID and injury issues to the popular Netflix show “Squid Games.”

“If you go from the beginning of the season with our roster to right now, I don’t know if we are playing football or the Squid Games.”

NFL teams are always dealing with injuries, but this season the Ravens have pushed that to the limit. Before the season even began, they lost starting tailback Gus Edwards and backup running back J.K. Dobbins with torn ACL's. Justice Hill was the next man up until he went down with a season-ending injury also.

Pro Bowlers Derek Wolfe and Marlon Humphrey were also lost for the year, put in IR earlier. This week alone, starters Justin Houston, Pernell McFee and Justin Madubuicke were placed on the COVID-19 reserve list. It is a lot to overcome with the season on the line.
