The Baltimore Ravens witnessed Ray Lewis perform his pregame dance for 17 seasons with the franchise. Now, the legendary middle linebacker will be switching his cleats for dancing shoes to compete on the ABC reality program “Dancing With the Stars.”

We've seen quite a few former NFL players test their dancing skills on the show; with four of them coming out as the winner of the show. The four players who were crowned victorious were Emmitt Smith, Hines Ward, Donald Driver, and Rashad Jennings.

Lewis spent his entire 17-year career in the NFL with the Ravens. Over the course of his career, the defensive captain in Baltimore was regarded as arguably the best inside linebacker to ever grace a uniform in the league's history.

In 17 seasons, Lewis amassed 2,055 tackles, 41.5 sacks, 31 interceptions, and 19 forced fumbles. Along with his insane numbers, the Ravens middle linebacker was known to be a phenomenal leader off of the field.

After retiring from football in 2012, Lewis had two Super Bowl rings, 13 Pro Bowls, and seven All-Pro selections. Then, after being five years removed from the NFL, the passionate linebacker was named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.

The former Ravens tackling machine decided to join ESPN as an NFL analyst in 2013 but was ousted in 2016. Lewis landed on his feet and would join Fox Sports in 2017 as an NFL analyst for their network.

Ravens fans often witnessed Lewis exit the tunnel and fire up the crowd for nearly two decades. The next chapter in Lewis' life will allow fans to witness the Hall of Fame linebacker dance without a helmet and shoulder pads.
