Many believe that Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson will win the 2019 NFL MVP Award and one sportsbook has already decided to pay out the MVP futures that were placed on Jackson.

PointsBet, which takes bets in New Jersey announced Wednesday that it's paying out all bets on Jackson which will result in five figures in losses for the sportsbook.

“We’ve really enjoyed watching Lamar Jackson make the impossible look easy every Sunday,” said PointsBet USA CEO Johnny Aitken, in a statement via the Action Network. “Considering some of his recent performances and looking ahead at the Ravens’ remaining schedule, it’s pretty clear to us that Lamar is simply a freight train that won’t be stopped. He is steaming toward well-deserved NFL MVP honors as he racks up the yards, rewrites the record books and redefines the quarterback position. Given that, we think it’s only fair to reward all of our clients who had the foresight to place their bets on the right long shot.”

According to PointsBet, if someone else does win the MVP award, they will also payout those bets, but they are confident that Jackson will take home the crown. He is having one of the better seasons in all of football, and historically it could go down as the best ever for a duel-threat quarterback.

On the season, Jackson has thrown for 2,258 yards, 19 touchdowns, and five interceptions. On the ground, he has also rushed for 788 yards and six touchdowns. Barring any potential injury, it seems that he has this all wrapped up, so paying out early is giving PointsBet some great publicity.
