Baltimore Ravens rookie quarterback got his first start on Sunday against the Cincinnati Bengals with Joe Flacco being held out. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh had very high praise for the rookie quarterback that led the Ravens to victory of their division rivals.

Jackson rushed the ball for 117 yards which is a lot for any quarterback, let alone for your first career start. In addition that's the single-game rushing record for a quarterback in franchise history. Jackson's 27 rushing attempts were sixth-most by any player and the most by a quarterback since 1999. Harbaugh stated Jackson was “spectacular ” and played “winning football” in Sunday's contest against the Bengals, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

Harbaugh left the idea of Jackson getting another start up in the air as he stated it would be “tough” for Flacco to recover from his hip injury in time for next week's game against the Raiders. Considering the Raiders are arguably the worst team in the NFL, Jackson could fare very well against a mediocre defense and produce similar numbers to what he did against Cincinnati.

The 32nd pick in the 2018 NFL draft proved to be amazingly talented in his college career with Louisville and it's clear that his style of play can be effective in the NFL. It's not often a mobile quarterback can translate their game to a professional level, but Jackson shows incredible promise. Even if Flacco remains the quarterback for the Ravens throughout the season when he is healthy, it's obvious at some point Baltimore drafted Lamar Jackson for a reason.
