Despite the disappointing path his career has taken in the NFL, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Robert Griffin III continues to have a job in the league – and interest from other teams.

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, there are several teams looking for backup quarterbacks who have shown interest in the former Heisman Trophy winner. He cited the Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, Denver Broncos, Oakland Raiders, Dallas Cowboys, and Carolina Panthers.

In addition to Griffin, Mike Glennon, Josh Dobbs, and Tom Savage were mentioned as possible targets for those teams.

Griffin is not in a position to feel safe that the Ravens are going to make space for him on the team’s final 53-man roster. Although he’s played well in the preseason, rookie Lamar Jackson has shown flashes of brilliance this offseason, making a strong case for himself to be Joe Flacco’s main backup. The question for the Ravens, however, is whether they believe that Jackson is ready to go now should anything happen to Flacco.

On the other hand, the Ravens may also follow the examples set by the New York Jets and the Green Bay Packers, who decided to trade their backups in Teddy Bridgewater and Brett Hundley to the New Orleans Saints and the Seattle Seahawks, respectively, while those players’ stocks are relatively high.

Griffin has gone a long way down from being a superstar-in-the-making quarterback for the Washington Redskins. Injuries and locker room controversies in Washington both had big roles in sparking his career freefall, but he’s still just a 28-year-old quarterback who is currently healthy and an experienced gamer under center.

After getting released by the Cleveland Browns in March of last year, Robert Griffin III missed the entire 2017 season as he was unable to find a job until the Ravens signed him last April to a one-year, $1.1 million deal ($100,000 guaranteed).
