The Washington Redskins may be playing the 2019 season without one of their most important players. Trent Williams is currently holding out but not because of his contract. The Redskins team president, Bruce Allen, said he knows the “truth” about Trent Williams and his holdout.
“I know what Trent told me so I know what the truth is,” Allen said Friday per JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington. “I’ll leave my conversation with Trent between the two of us.”
We will likely never know the whole reasoning behind the holdout unless either side decides to budge.
Williams—who is under contract for the next two seasons—is reportedly holding out for other reasons than money. Supposedly, Williams is staying away from the team due to mishandling of a tumor he had this offseason.
Although, the tumor was found to be non-cancerous and wouldn't affect Williams. The Redskins team president insists that he's spoken to Williams a few times this offseason. But he wouldn't go into detail on what their discussions were about.

This isn't what the Redskins want in a year where they will need someone to keep Dwayne Haskins upright in his rookie season.
Williams has spent all nine of his seasons in the NFL with Washington. In those nine seasons, he has been a seven-time Pro Bowler and one of the best left tackles in the league. Now, the Redskins may have to decide on whether they cut or trade Williams if his holdout lingers into training camp.
The veteran tackle is under contract for the next two seasons but could find himself elsewhere in 2019.
