Safety Landon Collins is already feeling at home with the Washington Redskins.

This was what Collins told the New York Post's Paul Schwartz on June 9.

Honestly I feel more of a Redskin now after going through OTAs and after being there for a while, after meeting guys and hanging out with them, having great times.

I feel like I'm at home with those guys. I don't feel like I bleed blue anymore.

Collins signed a six-year, $84 million deal with Washington on March 11. This includes $32 million in guaranteed money over the first two years of the deal, per NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport (via NFL.com's Herbie Teope). He played his first four years in the NFL with the New York Giants, the Redskins' NFC East rivals.

With that, Collins admitted to Schwartz on Sunday saying the following.

“I don't think I was used correctly within the defense I was with.”

Hopefully, Collins will thrive in Redskins defensive coordinator Greg Manusky's system.

Washington stumbled to a 7-9 record in the 2018 NFL season. The Redskins finished 17th in the league in total defense (5,654 yards allowed). Collins is one of the premier safeties in the NFL. He should help improve Washington's defense drastically.

Collins isn't the only Redskin who used to bleed blue. Rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins, a New Jersey native, grew up following the Giants. However, the Redskins made him the 15th overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft last April. Expect both Collins and Haskins to make an immediate impact with the Redskins.
